But in 1911 James age 14, is living  as a boarder in the house of Thomas Disley in Burnley.

James is enumerated as 'brother' not boarder to Thomas, as is George W. DISLEY aged 17.

So presumably, Alice Disley and Edward Waddington's marriage in 1883 never happened, despite the banns being read three times, because it became apparent one or both of them was not free to marry after all. Edward presumably stayed around a while and fathered the younger of Alice's children (or some of them)

He then may have married someone else in 1890 (which would account for Alice being alone in 1891)

James arrives later - father unclear

1906 Alice and Edward are back together and marry, only for her to die the next year
