There's an interesting history to be found

Alice Disley
Edward Waddington

Banns     Dec 1883  Burnley (actually read three times)

Not noted, but can't find a trace of a marriage after the banns

Then

Q1 1906    Burnley Vol 8e p382
Alice Disley
Martha Ann Duckworth
Ambrose Snowden
Edward Waddington

Edward married before in 1875 to Mary Ellen Barker - definitely him as his address is 9 Hill Top, the same as given on Margaret Alice Disley's school admission

He potentially married again in 1890, to a Sarah Ellen Parkinson

James christening in 1899 only lists mother as Alice Disley.
No fathers name.
But in 1911 James age 14, is living  as a boarder in the house of Thomas Disley in Burnley.

You do need the birth cert  and James's marriage cert may help

I have been fiddling around re Alice and agree with sgf28 that this looks Alice and earlier children in 1891

Alice Disney,34, born Manchester, married
Matilda,8, Burnley
Amelia,7,Burnley
Margaret,5, Wigan

I found bapts of possible  earlier children

7 May 1876 Christ Church, Ince, Lancashire, England
Elizabeth Ann Disley - [Child] of Robert Disley & Alice
    Born: 14 Feb 1876
    Abode: Lloyds Row
    Occupation: Collier

Baptism: 14 Nov 1877 St Peter, Burnley, Lancashire, England
Thomas Disley - [Child] of Robert Disley & Alice
    Abode: Hallis St
    Occupation: Collier

Baptism: 28 Mar 1880 St Peter, Burnley, Lancashire, England
George Wetton Dizley - [Child] of Robert Dizley & Alice
   Abode: Picup St.
   Occupation: Collier

They were all listed with mothers maiden name Wallworth on the GRO Birth Index  Elizabeth Ann died in 1876, George died in 1881 and I think this is Thomas living with his grandparents in 1881 in Burnley

Thomas Wallworth    62   Coal Miner b Blackburn
Betty Wallworth    68 B Wigan
Thomas Dixeby    4  Grandson   b Burnley
William Gregory 40 ?-in-law b Wigan

And out of interest Thomas and Betty had a child Alice in 1871 livng in Ince in Makerfield who might be Alice Disley in later census years :-\

Thomas Walworth    50
Elizabeth Walworth    55
Thomas Walworth    20
Alice Walworth    15

It may be a coincidence but in 1881 there was a Robert Disley b 1844 Wigan - a coal miner boarding in Habergham Eaves, Burnley .   He is listed as married

Could this be the first of Alice's relationships and the reason she took the surname Disley???

Alice's daughter Matilda Disley age 21 married 17 Oct 1903 at St Peter, Burnley to Thomas Bithel and her father is listed as Robert Bithel - Collier

I can't see a Disley/Walworth  marriage is the area :-\

Kay

Added - Neale1961 posted previously

"James christening in 1899 only lists mother as Alice Disley.
No fathers name.
But in 1911 James age 14, is living  as a boarder in the house of Thomas Disley in Burnley."

I think the Thomas that James was boarding with in 1911 was his brother Thomas I mentioned before - who lived with the Walworth family in 1881
