1851 Canada West Census - What does X and VV mean? SOLVED

In the column for residence if out of limits, the enumerator sometimes has marked an X or a VV (or a W) at the far right of the column.  I'm not sure if it's meant to mean something or just a method of counting?  Any help on this?

I figured it out - he's marking married people with X and Widowers with a W.

Marital Status.

M (Married)
S (Single)
W (Widow)
Wr (Widower)

It was in another column.  I'm not sure why he also made these marks, but it's clearing corresponding that way on every line when I go through the pages.

If you scroll down to the end of the link *Sandra* posted, you will see info about accessing what would be a second page to the census. Depending on where the census was taken (I think) there should be a second page for what you were looking at. This is where the married, single, widowed would have been fully recorded. These second pages are also available through the automatedgenealogy website.
