I noticed that William's death was in Newtown, Connecticut.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VZ5S-PQV  It's a town that's not very close to Stamford and had a large psychiatric hospital in that era.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairfield_Hills_Hospital  I suspect he died while hospitalized there.

This looks like Mary's father living with the Lockwoods in the 1880 census.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MFCX-7YM  I don't know where Mary was then.

Good find!  This looks like the death record - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F7NF-K4C  I'm not sure why Maryland or Camp Meade, Maryland is mentioned, but another transcription just has the place of death as Connecticut.  If you're near a Family History Center or affiliate library, you could view the actual image there.

Patrick J. Reilly, age 67 years, died Apr. 25, 1887 is listed as being buried in St. John's cemetery in Darien, Connecticut.

shellyesq and RY137,
Thank you for the extra info - appreciate it.

Advice please:  Before my posting - On Familysearch I input  William Charles Bowler and dob ect and obtained some info, but not a lot.  Thats why I posted here. You all found loads of info and gave me the links which worked.  How come I could not get it before.  Assume I am doing something wrong or is there another method on Familysearch?
Apologies if that is a bit "off-topic".

shellyesq,
Thanks for the info.
There is a centre in Naples, which is only 238 kms away or a couple of hours by train.  Be going down there end of this month - "shopping".  Will check it out.

Thanks

Can I prevail upon your good nature for one last time ???
Have one last question and then leave you in peace.

Daughter:  Jessie E. Bowler b. 1898 Connecticut.
Given her date and place of Birth in the 1930/1940 Census she is married to George Lewis ????-????.and the marriage was 1927 circa.
There is also a marriage in Fairfield, Connecticut 25/08/1932 to Giuseppe (Joseph) Romano.  According to Connecticut Deaths 1949-2012 Jessie E Romano died in 1994 and mentions father Bowler (This from Ancestry).
Without discussion (Brexit?) Ancestry does not accept my italian bank/credit card, so no Subscription.
Find nothing on Familysearch again!!
This is the last for this posting and appreciate your advice.

Jessie E Bowler  Lloyd D Lewis  Los Angeles California.

BUT it’s a whole page of names, everyone else has two reference numbers Book and Page in the usual way. They just have Filed next to their names.

I do not know what that means.

But ancestry link to this page https://www.ctatatelibrarydata.org/marriage-records/ says date of marriage  17 Dec 1927, Stamford.

Did they file for divorce after one month or something?

Same CTA library site gives Jessie Bowler to  Joseph Romano 5 Feb 1953. No E
