Can anyone help me please.
Trying to find the parents of my 2xGreat Grandfather JOSEPH ATKINSON (born 1865, possibly in Liverpool). If i am right he had a brother called John S Atkinson (family tradition suggests the "S" may relate to a mother's or grandmother's surname).
Appreciate any help in this branch of my tree.

Feel as if I am getting there.
Just found an 1851 census from Gilesgate in Durham which shows a widowed stepgrandmother Hannah ? , a widowed father John Nicholson Atkinson and a possible step brother John Scorer Atkinson.
Need to do a bit more work to confirm this is correct but it looks promising. Thanks for your help.

Possible death for her in Sep 1848 age 24

There is a Thomas Atkinson birth also with mothers maiden name Scorer in Dec 1847 and a couple of Thomas deaths
