What happened to Jane Tucker?

Hello and welcome to Rootschat.
I'm afraid I hadn't pursued any further with Jane's illegitimate son William. Jane dying in 1850 in England matches with what Millipede found.
Eliza Tucker nee Kent was my 2nd cousin 4 times removed and 4th cousin 3 times removed (due to a cousin marriage bridging a generation between her maternal grandparents - Thomas Hawkins and Elizabeth Hawkins).
I will see what I can find on William. I wonder who looked after him after Jane's death, he would have been only about a year old. And his closest relatives had already emigrated.

Cant find him 1861 but married to Sarah Susanah Carpenter 1869 in London.
1st Daug Jane is with Sarahs Mother (who looks to have remarried in 1871 Census)

Thank you. I'm struggling with him in 1861 as well. Will have a trawl round wider family, or he may have ended up in an orphanage. If he became a bricklayer he must have learnt his trade somewhere.

1851 there's a Jane Tucker age 20 born Wanborough lodger in Stratton St Margaret with a William Tucker 1.

Probably his birth in Mar 1850 Highworth no mothers maiden name

Baptism 7 Apr 1850.

Just found that baptism record image - the vicar wrote it sideways! Why on earth

Found William and Sarah's marriage record at St John the Evangelist, Westminster. He names his father as Edward John Tucker - bricklayer. Witnesses Maria Tucker and Richard Johnson.
Seems rather a specific name for a father - is he a relative or does an Edward John something else feature in his life?

1871 in Westminster living in the Harper household we have;
Maria Tucker   24 Orphan Tailoress born Westminster
Frederick Tucker   16
Alfred Tucker   14
George Tucker   10

1861 they are the children of James/Caroline Tucker.
Jame married Caroline BRIGGS 1866 and he was a Widower.
James is born c 1801 Devon.

Cant see any connection to Wiltshire so may not be the correct Marriage witness.
