Any information regarding the parents and wife of David Downs Little would be helpful and give me a good start on my tree.
I think his father's wife may have married twice, the 2nd time to someone called Shaw, and they had a son called Norman. The branch on my tree is through his 1st wife.
David Downs Little married Hannah Wilkinson in 1937.

Have you looked for him on the 1911 census?  He appears to have been illegitimate as GRO search shows no mothers maiden name.  So who was his father?  Do you have his birth cert showing his mothers name?

We have been trying for a few years to find his parents without success. The info suggesting he was illegitimate and Little was his mothers surname opens up the possibility that his father may have been Shaw. I have checked the 1911 census but found nothing, now need to go back there and search the Shaw angle. Also need to go back to my sisters to get their opinion.

A few years??      If you simply purchase a copy of his birth certificate you'll know for sure who his mother is - I would suggest from his second name that his father could be a Mr. Downs but you might never know for sure.

Yes, David D Little married Hannah in 1937 and died in 1963. Hannah died in 1974
I will be looking at the Shaw family shortly.

The marriage certificate probably will not have a Father's name, but it is worth getting to see if any extra useful information.
