Which record?
« on: Thursday 06 February 20 19:52 GMT (UK) »
I am looking to get the birth certificate for my great grandfather Albert Cook, he was born 3rd Dec 1897, so its lies he was registered in 1898, however there’s 2 options when I’ve searched. How can I determine which is right?

Do you know the names and approx years of birth of any of his siblings?
If you do search for them too and see which Maiden Surname looks most likely.

Do you have him in 1901 or 1911?

The baptisms for both of the Alberts are on Lancs OPC.

Albert Cook born 3 December 1897 20 Trafford Stree,t parents James , a Street Musician and Eliza was baptised at St Bartholomew, Salford

Albert Cook born 8 December 1897 Primrose Hill, parents Thomas Cook and Mary nee McGrane was baptised 26 December 1897 was baptised at Mother of God and St James in Pendleton.

The second baptism looks like it was Roman Catholic and as the date of birth is wrong I would discount that one and order the one with mother's maiden name Jarvis.

I think Eliza may  have been a second wife of James the street Musician.
In 1891 he has two age groups of children.

Eliza only had 3 children, the third being Samuel, who must have died before 1911.
