Thank you for PMing it to me, he had passed away, in around 1986, I double checked with my Dad before posting :)

Have you got all the info. you require?

If you are looking for the closed names on the 1939 register do a search on FreeBMD
surname Painter / Slater and should be able to work out whose missing quite easily and then
if required you can check for  marriages and any children  :)
