William JONES d.c. 1960
likely it drills down to 5 June 1960, if so, likely the SMH of 7 June 1960 as per Ryerson Index may be helpful.   Index has William JONES, death notice 05 Jun 1960 late of Cabramatta.    I would anticipate the funeral may have been a cremation, perhaps Rookwood, however, my e-reader is not giving me good access to that edition of the newspaper.

There is a very nice obituary for William Jones senior, died September 1925.   I have quoted some of it here:
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/125193673,
The Scrutineer and Berrima District Press, 26 September 1925

Mr. William Jones, for some years past a much- esteemed resident of Wingello, passed away early this week. Mr. Jones came from the old town of Bridgenorth, In Shropshire, to Australia, 45 years ago, and lived at Newbridge, Kogarah,, Exeter, and latterly at Wingello.
.................
After a service in the Church of England at Wlngello, at which Rev. G. E Morris, Rector of Marulan officiated, and gave an address, he was laid to rest on Tuesday afternoon in the Church of England Cemetery at Penrose.
The funeral, was largely attended.
.................
Mr Jones has left a widow; four sons and. two daughters. . The eldest son,' David,' gave his life for
King and Empire in the Great War.

There is an online public tree which gives details of the gravesite at Penrose.

Sands Directories: Sydney and New South Wales, Australia, 1858-1933  has entries from 1915 for a "William JONES, sawmills, Wingello"

Nothing but ‘late of Lovoni St, Cabramatta’. Cremated Rookwood.

Thanks to everyone who has replied.  Jones is not an easy name to research lots of scrolling through records.  The Berrima paper does connect the family to Shropshire.

Possible Baptism for David Jones
24 Nov 1871
Place Wednesbury Staffordshire England
Parish St Andrews
Father William
Mother Jane

Two births in the July-August-September quarter of 1871 for Staffordshire where the baby is a David JONES.  So perhaps you may need to establish the names of mum and/or dad for the ‘other’ lad as well and also we need to consider if there’s births registered for David JONES in Shropshire.

Just looking at  that third quarter of 1871, and only Staffordshire and Shropshire

GRO : Volume 6b  page 164
David JONES, Stoke upon Trent, Staffordshire

GRO Volume 6b page 746
David JONES, West Bromwich, Staffordshire.

GRO Volume 6a page 716
David JONES, Oswestry, Denbighshire and Shropshire

GRO Volume 6a page 719
David JONES, Oswestry, Denbighshire and Shropshire

PLUS … considering a November baptism could be for a birth registered in the fourth quarter

GRO Volume 6a page 707
David JONES, Oswestry, Denbighshire and Shropshire

Excellent Guidance offered here re finding the maiden names for GRO birth registrations

Wivenhoe had found the 'right' birth registration for you  :)  now you need to sort out IF that November baptism refers to your family or to any of the other births found at GRO.   :)
