How can I get a copy of the St Mary, uttoxeter parish records so I can look through them I know you can look at them online but I would like to find a copy in a book as it might give more detail in to finding ancestors

Some of the Staffordshire Parish records are available to look at at a Familysearch Centre.
If they are on a paid site like Ancestry, often the whole register is there to view so there would be no extra information available if you went to the church.

What is the name of the person you are looking for?

Genuki is often a good place to look for this sort of information:

https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/STS/Uttoxeter

It's likely that you won't get access to the register books themselves, but instead to microfilm copies.

Hi julie thanks for the reply it's for Edward hudson and Helen (I don't know her surname) I'm trying to find if there's anyway of finding Helen's surname .Edward Hudson and Helen had a son called Joseph Hudson I found the baptism for him he had brothers and sisters all baptised at the same church
So I assume that Edward and Helen got married there I have also seen typos of her name as ellen. Joseph was born in 1724 so I assume that Edward and Helen got married before then. The youngest Edward and Helen had was Solomon born 1716 was also baptised at the same church. So I would like to find out a record for there marriage confirming a date and revealing Helen's maiden name any help would be great
Thanks

Images for St Mary, Uttoxeter parish records are available on FindMyPast.

I can't see a marriage in that church, and Solomon's baptism 28 January 1716 states he is the son of Edward Hudson and (blank space) his wife.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

So I assume that Edward and Helen got married there I have also seen typos of her name as ellen.

1. Never assume people got married at the same church they had their children baptised.
People got married at the most unlikely places sometimes, for any number of reasons.
Always spread the net wide - even to other counties, and further afield if necessary.

2. 'Ellen' will not be a 'typo'. Ellen is an alternative for Helen. Women with that name could have been called either of them, (or Nell, or Nellie.......).

Uttoxeter is quite close to the county border with Derbyshire - it would be worth looking there too.

goldie offers good advice on the name.  In the early 18th century, spelling was not exact - ever, even for names.   ;)
