It appears John Shaunessy married a Madeline Atkinson(Scott?) 2 Apr. 1923 Keighley, England, and they immigrated in 1923. They arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on 1 Nov. 1923 on the ship "Samaria".

The contact person from wince they came was  John's mother-in-law Mrs. J Atkinson, 11 Lund Lane, Keighley. Their destination was New York to John's sister Mrs. M Kelly  108 E. 90th St., New York City.

John was naturalized in 1930. On Madeline's petition for Naturalization in 1934 gives all the exact details about when & where she was born, her husband, when they immigrated and the ship, as well the names of all their children with their DOB and place of births.

It appears Madeline's mother Jane was living with them in 1930. She immigrated in 1929. She is listed as Jane Atkinson-Scott.

Thank you everyone for all this information.  Madeleine was the daughter of my husband's great aunt.  I had information from records in UK, including parish records of the church where she was married in Keighley West Yorkshire (kept at local library) but nothing about her journey and life in US.  I very much appreciate all your help and trouble  - many thanks, Brenda
