That's very interesting seaweed & ShaunJ, I don't have a account with online census at the moment so can't look up his details myself so many thanks to you both.

Familysearch has free access to census

Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

I wonder if this could be a marriage for him? I don't see Harriet anywhere on the 1851/61/71.

March 27, 1846 - Lincolnshire Chronicle - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England
Spalding, on the 20th inst.. Mr. Henry Walker, master Mariner, to Miss Harriett Hall, of that place.

March 7, 1873 - Stamford Mercury - Stamford, Lincolnshire, England
At Spalding, on the 20th ult.. Harriet wife Henry Walker, master mariner, aged 52

One record of seamen, 1835-40, gives his birth as 1813. His ship was 'Freedom'

His marriage gives his father's name as Henry.

A Henry, son of Henry and Mary, was baptised in Market Deeping on 8th August 1813.

The nearest marriage for Henry to Mary was in Stamford St John on 10th April 1809. His wife was Mary Sharpe.

Brother, George, born 12th June 1809 and baptised in Market Deeping on 18th June, so not long after the marriage, if the right one.

In 1851, George was living in London Road, Spalding, with wife, Ann, and 8 children

A George Walker of Spalding married Ann Taylor of Deeping St James on 10th July 1829.
Jane, born 1848, has a mother's maiden name as Taylor.

I found Henry Walker (mariner) on another site marrying Harriet Hall in Spalding on 29th March 1846, father Henry Labourer. Was the Harriet wife of Henry March 7th 1873 her death registered MaureeninNY? and I did not know about the vessel 'Freedom' DCB that must have been before the 'Billow' which he owned in 1851.
