Congratulations but where have those years gone the first members joined RootsChat on the 31st Dec 2003 when we pressed the "live" button. Many interesting and wonderful members past a present and many we have met over the years

It is hard for some more recent fellow Rootschatters to remember a time before Ancestry, but  I completely relied on the experienced researchers on this site to set me on the path of discovery.

Their patient and gentle education helped me open new doors in my family history.There were few useful websites about.

Some kindly even visited British archival holdings on my behalf, and others willingly shared there expertise.

Sadly, not all are still with us and I do remember them fondly.

I joined in 2004. Even then internet searches kept taking me to Rootschat.

I've learnt so much, broken down brick walls and kept abreast of what's happening in the world of genealogy.  Hopefully I've helped some people along the way too.

I joined in 2005, August,  I had met a woman in London and became great friends with her, , she told me about rootschat and I joined, Meliora was a very good friend and over the years she helped so many people on Rootschat, some of you might remember her, sadly she is no longer here and I miss her very much, I often think of  Meliora  when working  on RC

I often have sleepless nights and if it wasn't for RC I really do not know what I would have done, often I am here in the wee small hours to while the time away and then return to bed,, so thank you Rootschat for being there
