I am all the fours 04/04/04 .  Where did the years go.  I was directed here by someone, I think her name was Maxine, from GenesReunited.  I popped in there for a bit afterwards but my go to was and has been Rootschat ever since.  I’ve recommended RC to countless people over the years.

Reverent bows, I feel a real "baby" here, But it's a site I often recommend, also.

Feb 2007. I found Rootschat via Google search on one of my unusual surnames. Was contacted by a RootsChatter who is sadly no longer with us. She passed away before I was able to tell her I had definitely found a connection between our two families.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Oooh, I am a relative newcomer,November 2008.
What a Godsend.
Help with Family History and lots more besides, friendship, offloading moans and irritations, general companionship and laughs, with the bonus of good information outside family history matters.
What more could you ask for?
Many many thanks to everyone.
Viktoria.

I joined on 8 November 2010, I’ve had a lot of help and hope I’ve helped others on their Family History journey.

I’m finding it hard to settle to getting on with my own family history at the moment even though I have plenty of time on my hands as I’m halfway through my 12 weeks “shielded” isolation at home, very boring it is too. I check Roots Chat at least twice a day and tonight it’s the middle of the night as I can’t stop coughing due to Asthma not to any other nasty bugs. I think I’ve stopped coughing At last so it’s lights out time!
