1902 marriage of John Hatcher ferry to Eliza Rodina woodward-Southampton

His birth is on freebmd in 1879

You can use GRO online to find his mothers maiden name which was Pascoe

Use freebmd to find parents marriage - likely match 1866 - then find him on 1881 census etc. Easy to find in 1881

Thank you so much! I am researching 2 seperate people called John hatcher Ferry and this has been wonderful to define their 2 trees. I am now looking at the father of John Hatcher Ferry (MMN Pascoe).
I can see that William John Ferry married Eliza J Pascoe in Southampton 1866- is there any way to find out who the father of William John Ferry was please- and any occupation?

Just use the same process as above.  His birth is on freebmd in 1848 and you can use GRO online to establish mmn then freebmd for parents marriage plus censuses

Freebmd has the marriage of William Ferry to Caroline Hatchard 1846 registered at Lymington.

All other records have her name as Hatcher.

1851 census Milford  William is with his grandmother.
Phebe Hatcher wid 59 born Farley Hants
Henry  son 27 wid born Milford
Thomas  son 16 born Milford
Sarah dau. 14 born Milford
William Ferrey grandson 3 born Milford  s/b Ferry
Charles J Ferrey 1 grandson born Milford (registered as Charles James)  s/b Ferry

That is brilliant and has solved my conundrum of 2 different people being called John HATCHEr Ferry- I can now work across both trees and down the siblings to make the connection! Thank you so very much!

Could I be very cheeky and ask if you can give me the direct link to the bit of the GRO site which allows me to look at more cert info online please? I have been using Free BMD for over 10 years and love it but have not used the latest upgrade to see more online.

1861 William is not with his parents William and Caroline Ferry transcribed as Terry on anc....in Southampton, 5 Union Street.
William the father is listed as a seaman.

The new GRO site gives the mother's maiden name but no other details unfortunately.
