I know Sarah痴 husband Samuel Childs died in 1844 and is living with family in 1841 census being    St Milborough Stoke

Samuel Childs 60 1781 and William Childs 1816

I知 sure Samuel and Sarah married in 1796 Burwarton Shropshire.

She may have died pre 1837

You say 的 know Samuel Childs died 1844 - nothing on freebmd to support that.  In fact the only Samuel Childs death 1841-1851 was in Leominster 1851

If Samuel was born between 1780 -1784 (1841 ages were rounded down) is it likely he married in 1796?

Are you assuming his wife was Sarah from that marriage entry or do you have son William痴 baptism as confirmation

You say surname was Childs with an s.  However - still nothing on freebmd under Child in 1844 but presume he is the June 1844 death indexed as Childes?

He was 70 when he died so born approx 1774 making a 1796 marriage more feasible (see my reply above)

Certainly looks as though Sarah died pre-1837 - nothing on freebmd 1837-1841

If she痴 not on the 1841 and freebmd have no death 1837-1841 - then yes - she must have died before civil registration
