Passenger list 1926
« on: Tuesday 11 February 20 23:28 GMT (UK) »
Good evening, I am looking for some passenger lists. I am from the Czech Republic and I am unable to find it. Could somebody please help me or give me a good contact for some archive?

First and second name: Jaroslav Polacek
Nationality: Czechoslovakia
Born: April 5th, 1905
Ship: Berengaria
Port from which the ship sailed: New York
Port of arrival: Liverpool
Date of arrival: November 1926

Apparently the ship continued to Cherbourg (France) including my ancestor.

Thank you very much for ANY help. My email: (*)

Welcome to rootschat, lukyrauch.

warncoort's link did not make sense to me, either.

Is this him going the other way?
Jaroslav Polacek   age 20  (should be 21, so perhaps not him)
Arrival Date:   30 Aug 1926
Born plzen, Czechoslovakia
Ethnicity/ Nationality:   Bohemian
Port of Departure:   Cherbourg, France
Port of Arrival:   New York, New York
Ship Name:   Columbus

I got the above information from Ancestry - worldwide.
Ancestry got it from 'New York, Passenger and Crew Lists (including Castle Garden and Ellis Island), 1820-1957'

Added: F M P has the same record.

Sorry, not much use.

Thanks a lot but I have already found this record. I am looking for the journey back - from New York to Cherbourg with a stop in Liverpool.

So I am looking for some passenger records from Liverpool or Cherbourg´s port...

Ancestry hosts UK and Ireland, Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960.

I can see the Berengaria using Southampton in November 1926.

The Berengaria arrived (from New York) at Southhampton  9 November and 30 November 1926.
I looked through the whole list of alien passengers on both manifests and did not find Jaroslav Polacek.
For the most part the records were typewritten, so there wouldn't have been any trouble transcribing his name, even if I didn't see him. But he doesn't show up on any indexes either.

Thanks, could you please send me some link?

He travelled with his football teammates so I also know some other names - Scheinost Ferdinand, Janda Antonin, Pesek Karel, Hojer Antonin, ...

I have many evidence that they were on this ship - newspapers, books and also some photos.

Do you have any idea how they can not be on the passenger list?
