Hi Gilld

I'm descended from John EMMINS who married Beatrice PASK in Burrough Green on 8 March 1726/27.  My ancestor was their daughter, Mary, but they had two sons - John, baptised 6 March 1731/32 and William, baptised 27 Oct 1734, both in Burrough Green.  It may be that one of them was the ancestor of your Johns?  Do let me know if you manage to trace your line any further back.

Regards

Ruth

Hi John

My earliest cert is for the marriage of John Emings and Jane Press both of New St Cambridge ....27 Oct 1839.

John's father was William Emings a labourer, they were married at Parish Church of St Andrew the Less, Cambridge.

As I have an amount of info on the Emmings ( spelling varies, one m, no g etc), I have found that they always lived around the same area of Cambridge.

John Emings who married Mary Jane Press was born c 1811 according to the census.

I might be looking for the families listed here. I am just beginning to research my family history, so sorry if I'm completely off the mark.

At the moment the only person of the Emmings family I am aware of is Elizabeth Emmings, who married Charles Taylor (born 1885 and 1878, I think). Their son, Leonard Frank Taylor, is my paternal grandfather.

Any reply would be greatly appreciated :)
