GRANDIN KEITH : Service Number - VX107043 : Date of birth - 07 Sep 1921 : Place of birth - FAIRFIELD VIC : Place of enlistment - IN THE FIELD WA : Next of Kin - GRANDIN ALMA

https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/ViewImage.aspx?B=9282665

This Keith is the one who I believe married Ruth and who died in VIC.
24235/1966 GRANDIN Keith parents Alma WOESS and Norman Henry GRANDIN born Melbourne died Prahran East aged 44

I can’t see the military record for the Keith Grandin who died in NSW.

The article with photo of a Keith Grandin, which I posted in Reply #5, has his age as 20 in 1934, so it is more likely to be the Keith who married Hazel and died in NSW.

Here is the WW2 Service Record index for Keith born 1915 who married Hazel Winifred.

http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/Veteran.aspx?serviceId=A&veteranId=790149

His birth
GRANDIN Keith
29338/1915
Father Charles
Mother Louisa J
BALMAIN SOUTH

The fathers of both the Keith GRANDINs (Charles George and Norman Henry) seem to be part of he GRANDIN family of Stawell Victoria.

Just one last item, i have Robert S Pryce in Adelaide in 1850 as a Freemason & a Court case in Dec 1851. But i cannot find him leaving England, when did he arrive in Australia

I can’t see a mention on TROVE.

What was his middle name, and where was he born? Was he Robert Septimus Pryce?

There is a death in NSW:

7169/1898 PRYCE Robert S HENRY and MARY at ST PETERS

Buried ROOKWOOD:

Robert S Pryce
Date of Burial: 24 JUN 1898
Age: Unknown
Plot: T_Zone C/#/5688

There is one, a commission agent, in Tassie, in 1854. 3rd last column:

http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article36289103

Ah, I see. It is the Robert Septimus that we have previously researched.

1850, Adelaide, 3rd column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article195940161

1851, last column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article38441855

1851, 3rd column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article38442392

1851, last column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article38440611

1851, 2nd column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article38448262

In the add for the commission agent the company name is H.H.P. Pryce. There is a VIC death:

5497/1854 PRYCE Harry Howard Per aged 40

Death notice, 2nd column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article36290968

Funeral notice, 1st column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article4801312

It appears that Harry was also a ships captain, 2nd last column:

http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article4786267

Probate, South Africa. PRYCE Harry Howard Percy, parents Henry and Eliza. States no relative or connection in Melbourne.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSQF-CSST-8?i=1028&cc=2517051

Robert Septimus also with folks Henry and Eliza, christened England 1822:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NBHJ-P6T

Harry/Henry Howard’s christening, same folks: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NB8S-HLZ

Their brother, William Broughton Pryce, was also a ships captain and was in Australia in 1858:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMP-47MC-6?i=276

Their father was also a captain:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPCV-67WS

The folk’s marriage 1816:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-99Q5-MT6N?i=95&cc=2515875&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AQ2MS-R3KX

I think the VIC birth to Robert and Mary confirms the connection: 1587/1858 PRYCE Harry Wm Bronghton
Christening: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XT6K-TS6

Was Robert was also a sailor?

Looks like father was here in 1830, 1st column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article32073740
