Looking for birth. John Mccleery 1923/4. Co Tyrone

Can anyone help please. I’m looking for John Mccleery Born Co Tyrone 1823/4. Father Hugh. Place of birth found on 1901/11 census.

Thank you for your reply. In the census the surname is mis spelt. It is McClerry. He I’d living with his son George.

This is the census I’ve found saying that John was born in Co Tyrone. Any ideas how I can find where he was born? Am I likely to find parish records and if so where would you suggest I look?

There are copies of the surviving records for Tyrone in PRONI, the public record office, in Belfast. A personal visit is required to access them. Access to the records there is free. This link explains what records exist, parish by parish:

Not all Church of Ireland parishes have records for the period you need. Some were destroyed in the 1922 fire in Dublin.  Perhaps 50% remain.
