Some travels for John I(saacs) Wilson:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JFW7-SP1 - 1903, heading to his friend "Belle Shuman"

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JN5X-BZZ - 1913, travelling with Isabella, relative in London Mrs A. Steinberg, sister

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JN4G-Y3X - 1924, travelling by himself, relative in London sister Mrs G Santon

I believe Rebecca Isaacs married Abraham T Steinberg in 1910, Hackney - it appears they named a son b. 1912  Gerald - coincidink? ;)

Wouldn’t have been the right family would it as Gerald’s son was born in 1896

This birth?

ISAACS, ABRAHAM       BEHEL
GRO Reference: 1896  M Quarter in ST GEORGE IN THE EAST  Volume 01C  Page 381

This is 1896 for Gerald's son.

I'm not at all surprised by all those name changes

My Jewish ancestors kept their surname but changed first names more than once and also altered their ages

Iots of detective work to get to the bottom of it
Some of the people with same name could be cousins as their was a tendancy to name children after deceased ancestors.

Also not unusual for whole familes who escaped pogroms in Europe to stay in GB for a decade before going to USA

Good luck sorting it all out .

Looking at school records helped me

 - interesting shipping list, 1922

Arthur Isaacs, 26, a tailor (typed "taylor"), wife at home Mrs A. Isaacs, 64 Shepherd Hill, Houghton Surrey
Heading to visit sister - Mr and Mrs J Wilson, Overlook Street, Mount Vernot, New York.  To stay 3 months.
5 foot 8 inches, fair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair.  Born London.

Seems to have been some issues with the typing, Mount Vernot = Mount Vernon.  Houghton = Stoughton in Guildford? (I see a child was born in that district in 1922).

I'm really struggling to spot Mr and Mrs J Wilson - probably "J" being the initial of the husband and Mrs Wilson being nee Isaacs

Arthur returns to the UK in Feb 1923 to that address in Stoughton

It’s not Stourbridge I don’t think. I believe that address belongs to the passenger below Arthur on the list .  Aunt Carrie lived in Shepherds Hill Guildford Surrey and that’s the Address for Arthur if you discount Stoughton.

64 Shepherds Hill is on the 1923 electoral register - Eliza Mary Bond (later Dulieu/Dulier) She appears to be the widowed daughter of a Gilbert Golder, tailor
