Workhouse records
« on: Wednesday 19 February 20 06:51 GMT (UK) »
Are the records of any of the workhouses in Louth available on line?

My ancestor from Dunleer came to Australia as a famine orphan, and I would like to check the Minute Books and/or admission registers of the closest workhouses to see if they contain any references to girls being despatched to Australia.

Thanks for any assistance.

Dunleer was in the catchment area for Ardee workhouse. Details here:

I don’t see any mention of records having survived but there’s a contact address in Dundalk.
