there's some wonderful Surman wills on the NLW website

https://www.library.wales/discover/library-resources/wills
The will of Lettice's brother, John, dated 1767 but written in 1754
The will of Lettice's grandmother, also Lettice, from 1743
The will of Lettice's father, Thomas, from 1776 mentions daughter Lettice, wife of William Bowen, brazier, wife Barbara, son Simon.

Looks like Thomas married more than once as the mother of Simon on his baptism was Elizabeth, likewise on that of Lettice 27 May 1739 in Prendergast.

Lettice Surman's will refers to John, father of Lettice Bowen, as son in law. The will of Lettice's husband, Simon, from 1730 mentions a son Thomas but also a daughter Elizabeth who will be paid her legacy within 2 months of marrying a second husband, so seems to be a candidate for Lettice's mother.

The burial of Simon is recorded in Prendergast in 1730 as
'My good Friend Mr. Simon Surman was buried the 18th of August'

Elizabeth Surman, mother of Lettice, died in 1747, there is an admin granted to husband Thomas.
