Callander family from Scotland/Lancashire to Australia

Hi,
I am trying to find shipping records for John Callander b. 1816 Falkirk, Scotland who was married to Margaret (nee Nimmo) and came to Australia around 1860.   Have found that he died at Bendigo, Victoria, Australia in 1891.

At this stage have found one of their issue,  William Callander b. 1849 Liverpool, Lancashire who came to Australia, Melbourne aged 14 years, he married in 1878 at Bendigo to Rosa Everline Brett.

Wondering if anyone out there can help me with father John Callander's shipping records.   Death certificate in 1891 shows that he was in Australia for 31 years.

Does the death certificate actually say he lived in Victoria for 31 years?

Also, who was the informant for the certification of death?

Not, unless he remarried. His will has wife Annie. The will mentions a son Thomas Alexander CALLANDER and a Samuel CALLANDER.

Their son William died in 1905.

Hi Jamjar,

Thanks for this, I am starting to have doubts about the family line that we are supposed to be connected to.   Basically I need to check that our John Callander born 25.2.1816 in Falkirk, Scotland, why he would have married in Liverpool, England.     I see him with wife Jean in Ancestry records, and still in Scotland in 1861 census.  Sadly the Trove article does not give his wife's name. Several of our Callander family members migrated to Australia for the Gold rush, and the christian names for the Callanders are repeated right through the families.
