Mabel Lilian was born 2 August 1903 baptized 17 September 1903 at Christchurch Greenwich, parents Thomas Bowdidge - carpenter and Sophie address 42 Earlswood Street.

Could the child of an unmarried mother be baptised in Church of England circa 1902-1904? As I believe Vera's mother Violet was not married at the time Vera was born.

Yes, they could.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
