Eliza Owens, b. 1867

I'm struggling with Eliza Owens.  The 1901 census gives her place of birth as Newtown, Montgomery in 1867, and the date is confirmed in the BMDs.  She was mother of the children of Frederick Pearce (or Pierce, interchangeably) between 1891 and 1906, though that last one is questionable.  The 1911 census, which I can't now find, gives her place of birth as Powys, so I don't know what's going on there.  I can't find a marriage between Eliza and Frederick.  I'm stuck, help.

Perhaps they never married but lived as man and wife.  Are they together in 1891?

though that last one is questionable.

Which child is the questionable one - is it Joseph Maurice born 1906?

Birth registration has mother as Owens so the little "s" has caused the problem.

I omitted to say that I'd found them on the 1891 but couldn't find Eliza any earlier.  The Newtown marriage looks likely.  Forget what I said about the 1906 birth, she was only 39. 
I'm using FindMyPast in conjunction with FS (which can be more useful at times) and looking for the Owen variant, but I missed the 1871/81 censuses.  I'll look them up again, Millipede.
