« on: Saturday 22 February 20 00:50 GMT (UK) »
Wondered if its possible to find out  about general house ownership and an actual transaction in 1964 of a house in Berkhamstead  ? I had a wonder around the UK Land Registry site but ........... ?

What do you mean by an actual transaction?  You can obtain a complete property ownership pack or a property deed pack plus other options from the Land Registry site

Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

This is only half a story, but several years ago, I looked into this, and I was surprised at the cost. I seem to remember it was charged by the page, and some were quite long.

£7 a page is a expensive. I recalled it being £1 several years ago. When our mortgage was paid off, the LR sent us the original 1906 papers, after they were digitised, for free. We found the land on which our house and 3 adjacent ones were built was owned by a syndicate including Sir Frederick Freake, a playboy sportsman who represented England at polo at the time.
