What makes you think he immigrated to the USA  ???

When was he born ? Who were his parents ? Did he have other siblings in the USA ?

William married Isabella Emmerson 1893

Rebecca A 23 sons wife
Thomas B age 1 grandson born Haswell
Margaret Rutter 12 granddaughter

There is a comment to say that John Shipley is Dorothy's son in law and Rebecca
is her daughter.(Dorothy Richardson Hall.)

The 2nd Thomas Blakey Shipley[1869] was buried South Hetton age 14 on 25 March 1884.

that was just one of the men I found.
There was another Wm Shipley arriving from Havana in 1905. It could be him too.
