Re the death for a Barbara, there is another entry for this with the surname Wilson. Can't seem to find a marriage so far for a Barbara Davidson or Bryd*n to a Wilson.

Odd about the registration of the 1888 marriage for David and Barbara.

There are two corresponding entries for the marriage:

David Brydon and Barbara Welsh Wilson - 1888 685/2 490 St Andrew (Edinburgh)
David Brydon and Barbara Welsh Davidson - 1888 685/2 490 St Andrew (Edinburgh)

Death in 1941 looks to likely be the correct one.

It's just one entry, indexed twice. It means that Barbara had two surnames before she married David - could have been previously married, or could have been known by a stepfather's surname.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Barbara Welsh Davidson was previously married to Robert Wilson at Kennoway 1878.
