finding a cemetery
« on: Thursday 27 February 20 11:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi.... i'm Just after a bit of advise please...Is it possible to find  the cemetery where a recent relation ( !999 ) might be buried/cremated on line ? without going to all the Graveyards that might be  in the area. The Death was registered in Henley oxfordshire but believe said person lived in emmer green caversham area..! If any one could point me to a web site or help in anyway would be of great help.

Contact the bereavement department of the local council as they may be able to help. I've done this a couple of times with good results. The chances are that by 1999 it was a cremation rather than a burial, in which case they will have details.

There are only two cemeteries in the Caversham area, Hemdean Road and Reading Cemetery which also houses the Crematorium.

There is a £4.50 fee if you want Reading Council to search their records (this is way cheaper than Bradford’s search fees), see the link

Have you checked to see if they left a will, that sometimes mentions what they want to happen to their body.
