George Winter - to America - 1865
« on: Friday 28 February 20 08:59 GMT (UK) »
According to " Find a grave" George Winter, who was buried in  Bay City, Michigan, in 1916, he was born in England on 8 February 1843. His wife was  Mary Serena.

George Winter and Mary  S Culver were married in Clarence Township, Calhoun, Michigan, on 4 August 1868.

In 1910 they were living in Bay, Michigan. The record shows his date of immigration as 1865. His occupation was blacksmith (rail road)

I am trying to identify George more fully. Are there any emigration/immigration records that  provide a more detailed place of origin  or other helpful information?

Passenger lists of that time frame unfortunately would not give the place in England where he was born.

Afraid so.

I'm looking for George, born  Mar Q 1843, Wellington, Somerset. Son of William  and Ruth (Westlake). Last heard of in 1861 as  an "ag lab", lodging in Cannington, Somerset.
