Sarah Hambling b.1834 Ilketshall St. Andrew married in London in 1854 - when I first saw the marriage details I didn't think it was her because in 1841 and 1851 her father Samuel was an Ag.Lab. but following this couple after 1854 on the census it became clear she was the right Sarah.

Albert Mannall     Master Mariner, son of John Mannall, Farmer
Sarah Hambling    dau. of Samuel Hambling, Mariner (??)

married 28/8/1854 St. Alphege, Greenwich

1861 - Albert and Sarah are on the Vessel 'Yarburgh' in Suffolk - he bc.1824 Saxmundham, and Master of vessel, Sarah 27  Masters wife, bc.1834 St. Andrew (Ilketshall).

Albert Mannall died in 1874 - in 1881 Sarah Mannall, widow, is shown as Housekeeper in Islington.  In 1891 shown as a visitor in Saxmundham, housekeeper, head of household an Eliza Mannall.

1901 still in Saxmundham  - you'll notice that as Sarah aged she appeared to get younger on some census.   I think she is the Sarah Mannall who died 1908 Mutford when age is about right.

Looks like they didn't have any children.

Quite why Sarah stated her father was a Mariner when she married I've no idea (perhaps he was a mariner when he was younger - who knows).

That is interesting to read about Sarah saying about a Mariner. My grandfather was one of four brothers all born in the 1880’s only one of them didn’t serve with Trinity House, some son’s followed after their fathers and served on light vessels, even my grandads wife’s brothers where serving with Trinity House.

I thank you so much for all that info you have found. I will probably call on you again in my quest in completing my family tree. Take care.
