Charles Smith, student at St. Jude's School, Portsmouth, 1909.

If you are a relative of Charles Smith who was a student at St. Jude's Boys' in Portsmouth in 1909, I have a book that might interest you. I bought the book in a second-hand shop in Melbourne many years ago, promptly put it in my bookcase, and have just found it again. The book is entitled, The Heroes or Greek Fairy Tales for my Children," by Charles Kingsley. The sticker on the inside front cover reads as follows:

Portsmouth Education Committee

SPECIAL PRIZE

For progress in Studies, Good Conduct and Attendance without Missing.

Name  Charles Smith

School. St. Jude's Boys

July 28th 1909

The book is in good condition. I'm not related to Charles Cook, and would like to pass this on to one of his relatives as I think it would probably be important to them.

If you are a relative, please reply to this post and I would be happy to send the book through the post.

I've had no takers for this book so I have mailed it directly to the school.

The school is quite overjoyed to hear of it, so it really feels right to send the book home. Thanks for your supportive comment.
