With the talk about stockpiling, things in Australia are just as mad.

Had a visit from our daughter today. She went to the shops, and found, just as everywhere, the toilet paper and tissue isle empty :o :o

Also, in the pasta isle, most of the pasta had been emptied, but the kidney bean and chickpea pastas were still there. :o :o

As they are the pastas she wanted, no problem

My granddaughter arrived on my doorstep on Wednesday night, they had run out of toilet paper and couldn’t find any.  Fortunately I had picked up some at my local Coles on Monday, so I could share.
The empty shelves everywhere are ridiculous.

If we think it is ridiculous and everyone I know thinks the same then who are these people?  Maybe it means I am moving in the right social circles for a change  ;D

It's about common sense.

More people a year die from normal flu or other illnesses.

Let's face it … it's a good day to bury bad news  ;)

14 days isolation for a family of 4 or above would require quite a few toilet rolls - especially as many people use a toilet roll as tissues for a heavy cold (much cheaper & more practical than a box of them) so I feel maybe we (including me at first  ::) ) are being a bit harsh on the hoarders  ;D

Also - if you self-isolate for 14 days because you might have symptoms but don't actually have the virus, when you emerge you could then catch the virus & have to do it all over again - nobody seems to have thought we might all need several periods of isolation.

Plus if us oldies are advised not to go out anyway while the outbreak lasts.....

Not sure if another aspect has been covered here. Only way 'herd immunity' can be achieved, is to let the virus run it's course. Govts.are trying to flatten out the curve of infection so the medical services can cope.

I can vaguely remember being very ill with 'Asian Flu' in 1957.

I wonder if that's given me any immunity?

Romilly.

You probably do have immunity.

According to the gentleman/scientist yesterday no one has any immunity to it which is why it is such a problem
