Details from Andover marriage records
« on: Thursday 12 March 20 19:08 GMT (UK) »
I am struggling to find any birth/baptism records and therefore parents of John Biggs.
Unfortunately by the time if the 1841 census his wife is widowed so I have no way finding place of birth the usual way. Would his father’s name be in parish records of the marriage? Is this something that can be looked up?

John Biggs (b cir 1792) aged 21 of Cripplegate, London
Marriage Allegation dated 26 Dec 1813 at St Mary Andover

As far as I can see their children are:

William bp 11 Jan 1815
William bap 19 Jun 1816
Sarah bpt 26 Sep 1817
Eliza bp 3 Jul 1819
Charles bp 30 May 1821

all baptised at Andover.

It is possible that these names are from John's family.  Jane's parents were Thomas & Jane.

When did John die?  Do you know if he left a will?

Yes, Little Nell, that’s them.
He died 23 June 1830.
He was a coach driver and he collapsed and died whilst driving through a snowstorm.
Although the family lived in St Clement’s, Oxford, he was buried the next day at Gerrards Cross.

I thought your name was familiar...we discussed the family back in 2008! :o
