Perran - Where is this?
« on: Saturday 14 March 20 09:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

My ancestor is Elizabeth Curnow, neč Ball, (1808-1855) In the 1851 census for Mawgan in Meneage, Cornwall she states her birth place to be Perran, Cornwall.

I can't find a place just called Perran or a likely Baptism for Elizabeth?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Kieran

Possibly Perranporth  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks for your replies. The Mevagissey entry is a good fit time wise, although not near any Perrans. She married, lived & died at Mawgan-In-Meaneage.  ???

Looking at the hundreds of people in the 1851 census who were born in "Perran", most of them are in Perran Church Town in Perranuthnoe.

In 1851 a person on my tree states he was born in Perran.  His baptism took place in 1792 at Perranarworthal.
