RASMUS MADSON and wife, MAREN LINDHOLM
« on: Saturday 14 March 20 14:54 GMT (UK) »
I am researching Rasmus Madson (Madsen) and Maren Lindholm who married in the United States and migrated to Queensland, finally settling in Taabinga Kingaroy.
Both were born in Denmark and moved to the States and I have varying possible residence locations of Illinois; also Isle of Wight County, Virginia; Blackstone Livington County and New York, but nothing definitive.
Three children, Laura, Jeff and Mary Christina were born in the United States.  I can find absolutely no record of their birth anywhere.
I can find no record of their migration either on the Australian end or the United States manifests, in or around the year 1892-4.
Help, please.  I am at my wits end, and I appreciate any help that can be given.  I am especially interested in migration records from United States to Australia.
Ireland, Scotland, England, United States, Germany, Australia.

This looks like their marriage record - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KFL4-VJC  I don't know if you have their parents' names, but Maren's parents' names seem to coordinate with two of the kids' names.

Do you have a time frame in which the children were born?

Is this the son Jeff referenced?

If so, then we know he was born 1891/1892, to help narrow the search down.

It looks like Laura got married in 1911 to a Charles Thurecht?

Have you checked for obits which might mention where they were born?

I see  Rasmus died in 1930. Is there an obit for him that might mention when the family immigrated?

Thanks to all who responded.  All the information and links are correct, and we have the right family.  Unfortunately, I cannot find birth records or migration records for this family.  I really do appreciate your work on this.

Being able to narrow down the time and place of possible births is half the battle.  However, not everywhere in the US required birth records or got compliance with requiring birth records so early, so be aware you may be looking for something that doesn't exist.

Well that's distressing.  I have tried every avenue I could think of.  Perhaps you can help direct me to the correct link to find the ship's manifest showing their migration to Australia in 1892-94.  Ancestry is giving me nothing and I don't know which way to turn.
