Corona virus
« on: Wednesday 18 March 20 19:14 GMT (UK) »
Good evening,

We have an RBL committee meeting due soon. Inline with the issued guidelines we are going to do it via e-mail.

The minutes of the last meeting have been e-mailed out. The next step is for all those who make a report to send that to all comm members. We then read everything and send back to the secretary a yes or no for each report. We make any comments on the previous meeting and bring up any other business at the end.

The secretary can then do the minutes from the replies and send that out to everyone'

Hi

A simple way, after sending out reports prior to mtg, is to use a facebook group with only the committee as members of the group.

You can then ALL make comments "as you go",
and do AOB when other topics agreed to be complete
(and when ready to move on.)

In effect, as you would normally "run a mtg".

Secretary can close off, and send out minutes when ready . . . . .

I have tried to set up whatsapp with my daughter and family, think it must be my antiquated mobile phone as it isn't happening,

I am going to try to set up one of them,  skype, well I would have to be dressed and no hair rollers in!!!, that will be an excuse to dress smartly, can't see me dressing smartly for the duration if I can't go out, no church, no outings, just me and the other half.

My dear granddaughter coming home from Sheffield university  said she would come and talk to me through the window or outside the patio door, bless her

Take care

Skype is driving me mad at the moment.  Ten years ago we had a Skype account to enable us to speak to our daughter in Spain.  She came back 8 years ago, so didn't need it any more.  Yesterday I tried to reactivate it, but it refused to accept my password, so I asked to change the password.  This it allowed me to do, sending me a code via my antiquated mobile (not a smartphone).  I tried again to log in using the new password, but it wouldn't accept it.  There seems to be no way of contacting them to explain the situation, so at the moment I am at a loss how to proceed.

Gillg I had the same problem we used Skype years ago when we were travelling but have not used for years. I couldn't get it to work yesterday so I set up a new account using a different email address and it seems to have worked but haven't had any calls yet!

I presume that the RBL has measures in place to comply with the Data Protection Regs that are in place which makes circulating group emails potentially problematic.

One way around it would be to use a Dropbox system or a Cloud based system
