Still prefer a paper/paper so will be "shuffling"

You made a comment about my use of a word "shuffling", on another post, but that was not a derogatory comment. It was an observation of how I keep seeing very old infirm people barely able to put one foot in front of the other going to the shop. In doing so they shuffle along, stopping, sticking their heads almost nose to nose to speak to each other. These are very infirm people going to the shop to get a newspaper.

Of course, they are overtaken too by sprightly older people too who cheerily pass and say hello to them too.

Have you ever noticed the people who read the newspapers at the "stall /stand" and then replace them. Usually the same people who have an habit of licking their fingers to facilitate turning the pages.

We noticed a gentleman come out of the toilets in a local super market, swap the newspaper off the newspaper stand and go back in again !!
Never bought another paper from a supermarket.

I only buy one newspaper a week, I do read the news on the apps but I buy the Saturday one because I like the telly guide and the puzzles in it.    I'm not in the age group that have been advised to stay at home but have chosen to do so. Yesterday a very trusted friend brought mine, along with some bread and milk (Yes! ) The only thing she was lacking in terms of precautionary measures was the hazmat suit! I've been especially careful not to touch my face when reading it and have washed my hands thoroughly afterwards.

I'm with groom on the fake stories, the only ones I trust are those on the government or NHS websites and in this case I did place my trust in the World Health Organisation!

It's a shame that the government haven't been able to provide a definitive answer from the scientists about how long viruses can live on surfaces, there is so much conflicting information even from doctors. I'm taking the view that it's better to be safe than sorry until I know for definite.
