Woodside Family (Ballynure, Carickfergus and Larne)
« on: Sunday 22 March 20 21:39 GMT (UK) »
Many blood relatives of mine married members of the Woodside family between (1887-c1970). I was just wondering if anyone else has an interest or has carried out research on them, as I am keen to find out about the lives and families of the Woodsides who were born after 1888. Most of these families lived in the Ballynure area, whilst the others may have lived in Carrickfergus or Larne. Any assistance, would be much appreciated.

You may already have the below information from the help that hallmark has given you.
Like you, I also have a very loose, married connection to this Woodside family below.

There is a William (46 yr old farmer) and Agnes Woodside with their large family living in West Division, Carrickfergus in the 1911 Census. (Possibly in Troopers Lane) In the 1901 Census the family are found under Middle Division, Carrickfergus.

There is a possible marriage of the above William in 13 May 1887, solemnized in Ballynure, to Agnes McIlwaine, 18yrs. William was living in Ballynarry. Fathers:  H? John Woodwide, and John McIlwaine. Both farmers. See irishgenealogy.ie

The Will of John Woodside late of Ballynarey County Antrim Farmer who died 9 September 1888 at same place was proved at Belfast by Robert John Woodside of Ballynarey Farmer one of the Executors. Image available. John left his farm in Knockagh, Carrickfergus to his son William Woodside. See Proni wills.

Findmypast historical newsapers will also help with the Troopers Lane Woodsides.

I hope this information helps.

Regards,
KiwiRose.
