Looking for information on the birth of William Mason b.1818in Aysgarth  according to the 1841 census living with a family called hancock in bishop auckland later to marry the daughter Ann Hancock.
Any help please

The 1841 Census only states whether or not someone was born in the county. It does not give place of birth so how do you know he was born in Aysgarth?

Hi all, thank you for replying.
I have the marriage cert which says his father is James Mason and i think he is a miller.
and I have census records from 1841 onward which say he is from Aysgarth Yorkshire.
the problem is I cannot find him before 1841.

I can find the following baptisms in Aysgarth

Ann Mason born 7 November 1811 bapt. 23 October 1825 paremnts James, Corn Miller and Margaret

James Mason born 9 September 1812 bapt. 15 July 1832 , parents James, Corn Miller and Margaret

William Mason baptised 13 January 1833 aged 14 years, parents James, Labourer, and Margaret

James Mason married Margaret Scott 6 September 1809 in Aysgarth.
