Hi everyone I've hit a dead end, I may have made a mistake (its been known lol)
My Great Grandmother is Gertrude Simpson 1897 High Hoyland (Barnsley) her parents are George 1854 Cudworth (Barnsley) and Mary Anne Simpson 1864 (not sure where she was born). I think Mary Anne's maiden name was Taylor but I'm not 100 % on that. Any help appreciated.

The parish of High Hoyland was in the Registration District of Wortley.

Wilfred was born Dec 1885 Wortley so that could be it - just in time.

GenUKI has a very useful "Where Is It in Yorkshire" guide:
https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/YRY/Where
That says both Denby Dale and Kitchen Royd are in the parish of Penistone.
