Hi everybody

My 3x great uncle, Charles James Moffatt emigrated to Australia. He was there about 1920. He lived in Adelaide with his wife, Mary Elizabeth KEENEY and his son John. I cant find when he died - could anybody help with that?

what year was he born and what country ?...so we can check age at death if we find one  :)

added - was it Gateshead 1889 ?

He was still in Gateshead in 1911

Yes born Gateshead 1889 had one son. On his brother Thomas George MOFFATT's service record (who was killed in WW1) it stated that he was residing in Adelaide in Australia.

Did not know there was an Australia board! Will get it moved!

It’s wonderful that Thomas’s service record has survived as over 60% were burnt during the WW2 blitz.  Thomas was killed 1916 and yes - his WW1 record shows brother Charles in Adelaide so emigration was between 1911-1916

Yes it is great that it survived gives a great insight into his service.
