John Gardner, died 29th April 1961 at St Nicholas Hospital, Gosforth. Husband to "E. Gardner".

GARDNER  Heaton, 131 Molineaux Street, in hospital, on April 29, aged 59 years. John, dearly beloved husband of Elizabeth. Cremation West Road Thursday 1.35pm leaving residence 1.10 pm. Friends please meet at Crematorium

Okay, so someone is alert and taking notice (obviously not me!)
Blame old age - or stupidity LOL either will fit :-)
Still if anyone claims the cert they can also have the death notice!

No worries. Your death notice discovery may well prove a useful extra one day to an interested party, haha.
