The trouble with the marriage entry (not banns) is that the father could be fictitious.  Birth would be better

Usually but the birth registration found earlier has the same mothers maiden name FRY which indicates he was illegitimate.

People often made up a fathers name when they married.

Do you have both his marriages with the same father mentioned or just one?

The only other thing is if there was a baptism for him.

On the GRO Indexes site, an illegitimate birth is usually indicated by a dash (-) in the Mother's Maiden Name field.

The MMN here was FRY.
It's possible that this was not her first marriage, but without knowing her name it is difficult to trace.

Lots of Fry-Fry marriages on FreeBMD.

This is only my thoughts. I think Clement Augustine Fry was the child of Lillie Fry. Lilly later married Fred English her sisters widowed husband. If you look at Clement later life he lived at 108 Soundwell Road, which was the family home of his grandmother Mary Ann Fry, through time various children of Mary Ann lived there. James, Virtue. Clemnet does not appear in the 1911 census. Lily is living with her mother and there is a boy, whose DoB matches Clement's but his first name is unreadable? He is called a nephew of Mary Ann Fry.
Apart from that has anyone information about Mary Ann Fry 1884 professional actress?
Chris

Why not get his birth certificate to be certain?

I think the nephew could be him although strictly he should be grandson not nephew  :-\

Just putting this thought up for info - not suggesting a definitive connection!

The Fry family, of the Bristol area, were Quakers.
They found Fry's Chocolate - and their (eventual) factory was in Somerdale, Keynsham.
Their original factory was on Newgate Street, and moved to Union Street in Central Bristol.

If your Fry family were linked to the chocolate family, there may be no baptism records, if they were also Quakers?

I would to find his parents etc. Also has he any connection the a Florence Reeves nee Fry born 1875 Kingswood. She was my grandmother. Also Florence had a sister, born Mary Ann Fry 1884 Kingswood, she was also known as Mabel Fry professional actress, in 1901. Thanks Chris Reeves
