The Cunliffe Family From Lancashire.
« on: Sunday 29 March 20 12:09 BST (UK) »
Hi I need some guidance regarding this family.
Catherine Cunliffe born in Ashton in Markerfield 1825-73 married to John Foster 1824-1886 Billinge.
Then I go back a generation to Catherine's parents William Cunliffe 1800-1833 and Mary Littler 1804-1875.
Then I get stuck because I can't find Williams parents, I'm not even sure where he was born.
Any advice please how to look into this part of my family?

I see your William dying in 1833 was of Seneley Green in Ashton. Could these be his parents also buried at St Thomas Church? Or close relatives?

William Cunliffe  buried 18 September 1832 a Collier of Seneley Green in Ashton

Mary Cunliffe wife of William buried 30 March 1834 aged 50 years of Seneley Green in Ashton. The entry states “no ceremony she being a Papist)

I had an inkling that Mary littlers father was John Littler but I’m going to look into Richard Littler as a possible father now.

I am a Canadian looking for relatives in the UK. I was adopted so I had my dna tested and the results indicate that my paternal family comes from Lancashire. I found a cousin in Canada who is also looking for family, but she too was adopted! She found out her biological mother’s surname was Cunliffe. I searched the name Cunliffe and found many in Lancashire (which is where most of my dna comes from). I would like to make contact with anyone who might help me find my family in Canada and the UK. Thank you.
