James (Jacobus} Cowan. Bap. 1847 Holy Trinity, Bilston.
« on: Sunday 29 March 20 15:23 BST (UK) »
I have the baptism of James (Jacobus) Cowan on Jan 25., 1847 at Most Holy Trinity, Bilston. His parents were Jacobi (James) Cowan and Ellen (Helena) Broadbent. They were married! I am trying to establish that the baptised James also had a second name - Richard.
All my research into his life seems to be coming together and always refers to him as James Richard. It would be good to establish that he was also christened Richard. Could anyone help with the records, please.

He is only James in 1851/1861 if I have the right family but I can't see his birth registration.

If this is them in 1851 and 1861, I see only three children registered:

Could we just confirm the marriage for him was 14 May 1885 to Jane Foster a widow?

Maybe he just fancied adding a middle name.

Any idea where he was in 1871/1881?

Thank you rosie99, Milliepede, Jamjar. We are all on the same page. I think he must have just fancied himself as a Richard!
Yes, Milliepede, he did marry Jane Foster - twice! Marriage in Wimborne, Jane's birthplace,in February, and then in Liverpool. I am thinking that possibly Jane was a Protestant, and James a Catholic, and therefore, the two ceremonies,

Milliepede. In 1881, James was living at 54 Eastlake St., Everton, as a boarder at the home of Mr. james Forster and his wife Jane!
