Both William and John were my uncles that I never met. John worked on the railways over here and during the war, left his job to go get his lunch when an aircraft crashed on its way back from a mission. He was lucky.  Thank you again for your help. I have learned a lot from reading the newspaper cuttings.

On the 1954 passenger list for Winifred M Shipperley, her destination is listed as "39 Hobart Ave. San Mateo, CA"

These are not common names and to have BOTH of them listed in Indianapolis, with reference to California is too much of a coincidence.
