Parents of Simon Breen County Clare 1896
« on: Monday 30 March 20 18:08 BST (UK) »
His parents were James Wm. Breen who married Mary McGrath. I have no other information about this couple except that they were Roman Catholic and may have come from Carrigaholt. Any more information would be greatly appreciated. They arrived in New York perhaps around 1947. They traveled to Rochester, New York State, then on to Hamilton Ont. where I have found other McGraths.

You could try a search like this on the Irish Govt BDM Website which is safe, Certs are Free.

you'd then need to chose those born in the Districts for Clare which can be found here

https://www.swilson.info/regdistmap.php  select Clare from 1st dropdown box and you get Districts

Don't see a marriage for the parents, don't see them in the census.
Where did you get the information on his birth and parents?

I may have discovered the problem here and if online tree I found is even remotely correct we've been wasting our time  :-\

We've been looking for a Simon Breen born 1896 Clare and haven't found birth or parents' marriage because...

Simon Breen born 1836 County Clare Ireland and died 1908 Ontario Canada.

So it's more likely that the Breens came to Canada in 1847 not 1947.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Crikey!!

Is this another case of garbage being copied from one "tree" to another?
